I’m sure my grandparents were appalled by Elvis and never thought he would be successful.

I know for sure that my parents believed that the long hair on the Beatles was a fad that would evaporate.

As my children were growing up, I was convinced that Rap music would never become mainstream.

There is an expression that fits growth and success in our society:  Catch up or be dragged.  I was recently fortunate enough to get a glimpse into a wave of mega-success within the exploding sports world of Mixed Martial Arts and it was as exciting as Elvis and as unexpected as Rap music. 

This all came about as a result of a casual but fascinating time I spent with the three members of TapouT, an interview with their business savvy member, Punkass and how this trio of best friends has captured a huge slice of the growing phenomena in MMA.

Ian Berg will be looking to improve his win-loss ratio to 5 – 1 on Friday night at BATTLEQUEST 8 when he takes on Vadiano LaLuz for the BATTLEQUEST Middle Weight Championship match-up at 185 lbs.  Berg’s last fight was at Ring of Fire on December 1^st 2007 when he experienced his first loss on a technicality.  Such a loss, however, does not discourage this competitor as he is a true fan of the sport and highly respectful of the athletic skills that it takes to develop mastery in the ring.
