The World Combat League (WCL)
is launching their second season at the Denver Coliseum Friday night, October
19th.
This is not just
another fight.
This is a league
founded and launched by Chuck Norris -- world famous film and television star --
who has been practicing martial arts
since before many of us were born!
Being a Chicago transplant, I still have not explored all the nooks and crannies of Colorado. I found myself excited to be covering the Comcast sponsored NME and Bad Boyz Clash of the Titans MMA match in Pueblo, Colorado this past Saturday September 3oth.
The event was held at the State Fair Grounds which was a great venue for MMA with dramatic lighting and powerful sound. There had been about 1000 tickets pre-sold and there were approximately another 1000 - 1500 tickets sold at the door. The sounds of the crowd were indications that everyone attending the event was invested in the outcomes of each match.

is always a buzz in the air for a Steve Alley Kick Down and Kick Down
42, held Friday night, September 28th were no different. It seems that
the auditorium at the Stapleton Red Lion Hotel is designed for his
events. Some might think it incongruous to have a crystal chandelier
illuminating a room with a platform roped fight ring but it works for
Steve and he exemplifies the atmosphere in his tuxedo.

Sven Bean is not only a top tier MMA promoter, but a savvy businessman as well. Ring of Fire 30: Domination, held at the Broomfield Event Center, Saturday night 9/15, was a prime example. In spite of audience competition with the CU/Florida State football game, the Center was nearly full with an estimated 4,000 fans. There were times during the evening when it seemed that every one of those fans were on their feet shouting for their favored competitor. There was not a dull moment all night!
